Before any other cleaning or decontamination process other than that recommended by the manufacturer is performed, the user should check with the manufacturer to make sure that the planned process does not damage the device.
- All Hettich centrifuges, rotors, buckets and accessories must not be cleaned in rinsing machines. All Hettich equipment may be hand cleaned with approved disinfection products. - Water temperature must be between 20oC - 25oC.
- All disinfectants and detergents must have a pH between 5 - 8 and must not contain caustic alkalis, peroxides, chlorine compounds, acids or alkaline solutions. These may cause severe oxidation of the equipment which could result in poor centrifugation.
- In order to prevent appearances of corrosion through cleaning agents or disinfectants, read and follow all directions provided by the manufacturer of the cleaning products.
The following products are recommended by Hettich to remove radioactive materials from Hettich centrifuges and accessories: "No Count" or "Contrad 70".
